Daniel 11 - How Prophecy Became History

A while back my family and I undertook to study the book of Daniel. We wanted to do an inductive study so we purchased a Kay Arthur study book on Daniel. That study was the beginning of preparat... read more...

ARTICLES FORWARD
Welcome to the Articles Section -

What's the difference between the "Articles" section and the "Christian Living" section? Articles in this "Articles" section are intended to be more along the line of an informational or analytical resource where the writings in the "Christian Living" section are intended to be more about living a Christian life in the world today with the right perspective. Another way to say this is that the articles here are to bolster opinion and the "Christian Living" section is to bolster or promote a Christian attitude.

As a Christian we sometimes need articles that are written in a strictly analytical manner to show those who are not Christians or who do not hold a Christian perspective about a particular subject why they should hold the same view as we do. This section will be for that type of article.

Informational articles give us, obviously, information. Information by itself can be neither pro nor con to any particular subject or it can be very pro or con to the subject. It is our desire to give you resources with which you can determine the truth.

It is our contention that the Bible is true from cover to cover - even in the area of science. For instance, when I was young the books on aerodynamics seemed to "prove" that a bumblebee could not fly. I could see the bumblebee fly, so I knew that was incorrect. What was the problem? The books on aerodynamics had not caught up to reality - enough information was not yet known.

Years ago there were science books that said that lightning went from the ground to the sky. I could see lightning go from the sky to the ground. Do I believe my eyes or do I believe some scientist who was trying to "prove" something he could not otherwise prove? I believed my eyes.  The last I heard it had been determined that lightning goes from the sky to the ground.

Every time someone has tried to "prove" the Bible wrong (even about some science question) sooner or later they find evidence and even proof that the Bible was right and they were wrong. In 1492 there was a common opinion that the world was flat. That was "science" of the day. The Bible talked about "...the circle of the earth..." (Isaiah 40:22) and there were those who believed the Bible. Isn't it nice that Columbus did...otherwise, we might not be here today?!
